Photographing a Photographer's Family

Amber here.

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to spend the morning with local photographer Jill Schwarzkopf and her awesome family. I've become friends with Jill and her wonderful husband Scott through various photography related events, and when she asked me to come and photograph her family, I was happy to oblige.

The session was a breeze. Mary Rose is an adorable almost-three-year-old, and Baby Reid is a sweet 16 months. I couldn't have asked for easier subjects!

Jill understands my relaxed style completely, so the entire session was completely laid back!

We read books...

Concentrated...

Did some serious playing...

Cuddled with the new puppy, Scarlet...

Laughed with Mom...

And enjoyed snuggling as a family. What a wonderful morning!

Jill and Scott, thank you so much for allowing me to see such a wonderful part of your life. Your children are just perfect, and I can tell they completely adore you! I hope you guys enjoy your slideshow!

Janet and Thomas: Downtown Engagement Session.

Amber here...

Last Sunday, I had the opportunity to hang out with Janet and Thomas for a leisurely engagement session. I LOVE when my couples choose to have an engagement session as a part of their package. We get the opportunity to get to know each other prior to their wedding day, and that, for me, is the most enjoyable part of my job... getting to know people!

I met Janet and Thomas at Scully's, a cute little place that does a Bloody Mary bar on Sundays. Thomas was pretty excited about creating his own custom concoction.

Janet and Thomas are gorgeous, and so comfortable in front of the camera.

We had a great time wandering around downtown looking for fun backgrounds and nice light.

Janet is a shoe girl, so this shot is just for her :)

For our last shot of the day, we walked over to the Courthouse where Janet and Thomas both spend most of their time, working as attorneys. We wanted to get a quick shot that will always remind them of this time in their lives!

Janet and Thomas... I am super excited about getting to know you guys even better between now and next June! You guys are amazing together, and so much fun. Thanks for hanging out with me on Sunday!

Elizabeth and Ritchey!

Hi all! Amber here again. I'm excited about all of the events that I have to share with you in upcoming days. It's been crazy busy around here, but I'm finally getting a free moment so that I can blog!

Elizabeth and Ritchey had a wonderful wedding at Grove Park Inn... The amazing Tara Jordan was on hand to keep the day running perfectly. The bride and groom were beautiful and fun. The weather was spectacular. The details were perfect. What more can I say? It was an amazing day!

Here are a few of my favorite images from their beautiful day.

I know I've said it before... but I really do love the preparation part of a wedding day. It's such a relaxed time, and I have the freedom to find fun details.

Like a gorgeous bride's lashes...

A festive toast...

A quiet moment...

And blue toenails!

I had a lot of fun with Ritchey and his groomsmen (and gal). They had great attitude!

I loved this moment at the beginning of the ceremony.

The light was delicious.

The couple was gorgeous.

And the party was crazy!

You can
check out their slideshow for more images telling the story of their wedding day.

Thanks so much to Liz and Ritchey for letting me come and hang out on your wedding day. I had an awesome time with you both, and hope that we have the opportunity to spend time together in the future! Atlanta isn't that far away!

Got iPhone?

I know a bunch of my clients have picked up iPhones recently, so I thought I'd put together an iPhone-friendly version of coreymcabb.com, since iPhones can't yet display Flash. A little coding and scripting, and voila! I'm no programmer by any means, but I think I got this one worked out ok. So, if you've got an iPhone, check out the new coreymcnabb.com!

And for all you photographers out there, as soon as I can get to it, I'll build one for McWorkshops.com too, 'cause I know a TON of you guys have iPhones!

Becky and Ben

Wow! What a wedding.... Becky and Ben had an awesome wedding at the Biltmore Estate, complete with fireworks! I feel very fortunate every time I shoot at the Biltmore, but this time I felt even more privileged... I've been told that I was the only wedding photographer, besides those hired by the Vanderbilts and their heirs, to have even been allowed to actually shoot inside the house! I was SO stoked! We had but just a few minutes inside, and of course we had to be very careful of all of the priceless antiquities. Becky and Ben and I were escorted by security, a member of the wedding staff, and a historian. We couldn't even walk on some of the rugs... but what an experience! Wow! I can't show you the images as I was asked to not by the Biltmore, but all I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you to Becky, Ben, and the Biltmore staff! Being in the house was just one of the many highlights of Becky's and Ben's gorgeous day. Here are a few of my favorite shots from the day...
