Our newest asset

Please help me in welcoming the newest team member of Corey McNabb Photography.... Katie Adams. Due to our continuing dedication to providing the best possible product and quality service in the industry, combined with the increased demand for our services, we began an exhaustive search a few months ago for another human resource to provide support to our clients, as well as to our photographers. When our call for a new staff member was first made public, we had photographers from all of the country offer their services, but we felt it was important that the role not be filled with someone who might distracted by the learning opportunities within the field, so when we anonymously posted the position officially on the net, we were sure to exclude any mention of photography.

It was pure coincidence that Katie applied for the position... you see, Katie is a former bride of Corey McNabb Photography!

Even though we quickly put two and two together and realized our connection, Katie still went through the full application and interview process with everyone else. It was with great pleasure that we offered her the position. Not only was she the most qualified candidate, but who better to interact with our clients than a past client?!

Already, Katie has proven herself as a welcome asset to the company. Should any of you need anything, please don't hesitate to email her at katie@coreymcnabb.com. In the meantime, check out her gallery on my website... here are a couple of shots.

Of course, you can continue to email the rest of the us as well...

Congratulations Kim and Alan!

I had the pleasure of photographing the lovely wedding of Kim and Alan recently.

We started off on Friday, with a fun gathering of friends at Grove Park Inn for the rehearsal dinner. I snuck outside with the lovely couple for a few quick "engagement" photos... they only had a few hours of engagement left!

Saturday, we headed over to Homewood for an absolutely beautiful wedding.

You can tell from this shot just how excited Kim is to be marrying Alan!

Nikon D700 rumors... for you photographers out there.

We've probably all heard the rumors, but I came across a full body photo leaked today of Nikon's new D700... said to be a D3 sensor in a D300 body for around $3500-4000 they're guessing... due out late this year or early next.

Exciting possibilities...

People are funny...

Everyone makes mistakes from time to time, but sometimes clicking "reply" instead of "forward" can have some funny consequences. I got a real kick out of an email I received from a self-described "...young (24 years old) wedding photographer in Charleston, SC." The young man had emailed me a while back with the subject "Great Photography!" and was very complimentary on the videos I have on my website. He was asking me for advice on how best he might go about getting some videos of his own. Of course, I gladly provided some advice, and we had a friendly email exchange following. He even went so far to say "Thanks for being so open and helpful, I wish more photographers were as kind." That was that...

Until the other day when I got an email from him, but it didn't seem to be addressed to me, but instead, I speculate, to a videographer. Here's an excerpt: "Looks good to me! Check out this guys site: http://www.coreymcnabb.com . Click on "videos" and you can see his video... it is really bad but it will give you an idea of what I need. I am sure you can blow that out of the water. As of right now the video will be the central part of my website, it will be on the main page so that everyone sees it first thing."

As many of you know, I always say "pay attention to the details"...

Good luck with your video, Lee.

To each, his own. And if you want to check out a really cool new video from Jasmine Star, watch this one

Article in The Laurel Magazine

Hi all,

I'm back from a fabulous trip to Kauai! Here's one quick shot that I liked that I got from a helicopter. More to come soon... including some of the fun-loving couple on their honeymoon!

Na Pali Coast, Kauai

It was nice to return to Asheville and see the June issue of The Laurel magazine on newsstands, in which is a 2-page article I wrote about wedding photography. It's a great magazine, so check it out if you get the chance, or read it here.
