McWorkshop. Round 3. Day 2.

Amber here again...Tuesday was super fun. We spent most of the morning listening to Corey give a new and expounded presentation on lighting. I was thrilled to see this new segment, and I had several students tell me that they felt that the morning session alone was worth the price of the entire seminar! Impressive, for sure.

After we spent the day cramming our brains with information, we took a brief afternoon break, and then met for dinner (sponsored by
Pictage... thanks Pictage!) at Papa's and Beer.

After dinner, we headed out to
Fun Depot for a little fun low-light shooting. Tara played bride for us, and one of our past workshop students, Nicole, came back with her husband Tracy to do a little engagement modeling for us.

There were so many fun and random places that we could've taken our bride to play. Tara was a trooper, and we had so much fun with her!

I didn't really shoot much... just played with whichever D3 Corey wasn't using. I'm not gonna lie... I fell in love with that camera even more on this trip!

Corey had a vision to put our beautiful bride on the go-carts.

Corey was a very aggressive driver/photographer. He made it safely through most of the drive, but towards the end he managed to wreck his car and hurt himself a little. Just proves he'll go the extra mile for the perfect shot!

After we finished in the go-cart room, we moved on to more exciting light: Black light!

A few of Corey's shots...

We finished up at Fun Depot, and headed downtown to learn even more about low light photography. Corey didn't take a camera out with him this time, because he wanted to be available to assist students with their lighting needs, so these are mine. It was fun to watch everyone assimilate all the information he gave to them and then apply it to their shooting. I learned a lot about low-light photography during this session. It's something I've avoided in the past, but Corey did an amazing job of teaching how to maximize both available light and our speedlights.

(Our grand-prize-winning contest image actually came from this portion of the night! I'll be sure to post that later!)

I do love Tara Jordan!

Can't wait to share more!
