Latest WPJA contest
I once again submitted images to the latest international Wedding Photojournalism Association photo contest and am very pleased to report that I won first place! An image from Leigh-Ervin's and Will's wedding recent at the Biltmore Estate took first place in the Scene Setter category. (Stay tuned for a post about the wedding itself). There were some really nice images in the contest this time, submitted by photographers from all over the world, so I'm quite honored to have an image place, especially as high as it did. You can see all the winners here. Here's the shot of mine that won...

Of the image, the judges had this to say:
"This overview was taken at exactly the right time of day: after sunset, but before the light in the sky went away. The composition is beautiful and having the orange light in the windows of the mansion is a nice touch. I like how the palette of the blue sky almost matches the blue of the top of the tent."
